I started this blog 9 years ago. I knew I wanted to be a Green Mom. Now a decade later I have realized motherhood is much more. Am I still the Green Mommy? Yes, but our lives are much bigger than that and I want to write about more than that. So welcome to The New Green Mommy.

Fish Tank Herb Garden
So the Green Mommy new project was to create an herb garden out of my 30 gallon fish tank. All my fish died a few months ago. They were all pretty old and one by one they died over the last few months. The problem I have had with this fish tank is that we have a big beautiful bay window in our hallway and we can't use it for indoor gardening because of our dog and cat who eat all our houseplants. So I had moved my 30 gallon fish tank into the hallway, not realizing that all the sunlight would cause my fish tank to become a giant algae bloom. So I decided to clean it out, fill it with soil and plant some herbs. I figured if it got that much sunlight, then I would turn it into a tiny green house. So now we will have fresh herbs all year around in our tiny green house.

This is a great idea. I don't know why I started thinking of this for my 29 gallon tank, but I'm glad I did. I look forward to a "fruitful" fish tank herb garden!
